I’ve been a Bruce Dickinson fan for more than 15 years and I’ve always been involved with Bruce related sites since the internet first steps. I remember back in 1996 it was really difficult to keep up to date with news concerning Bruce and the interaction among fans was nearly non existent. At the time Jeremy Haines from Minneapolis created the first Bruce Dickinson website on the net, where he also published the Strange Death Newsletter. I used to participate (not very often) in it, but I started to get more involved with things after Jeremy decided to terminate his site and as a consequence Skunk (another SD poster/contributor) built her fan site ‘Scream For Me’. I used to help her a lot, sending articles, interviewing things from Portuguese into English and more… The site turned out to be a huge success and after a few years it became the official Bruce Dickinson website, and it can be found at www.screamforme.com
This site was created in order to be the center of all Bruce Dickinson related news on the internet, since the official website itself fails in that category. BruceFans.com’s goal is also to stimulate fans to post comments about the published articles (hence the new blog format), and by doing so it will create interesting discussions about many different subjects.
Now a little information about me…
My name is Fernando Souza and I’m from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I’m also known as “Nando”. I’m a regular member of the Scream For Me Bulletin Board, where I used to be a moderator for many years. At the board I’ve met many people from all over the world, who are also great Bruce fans, like me. I’m really happy to say that I can call some of these people good friends.
I’ve been a Bruce fan probably at the same time I started liking Iron Maiden, and this might have been somewhere back in 1990.
I was with Bruce once, back in 1996, when I shook hands with him, exchanged a few words and got some autographs. I haven’t had any proper conversation with him yet, but I really believe this day will come soon. We do have a few friends in common, though. And what a bunch of friends!
My favourite Bruce album is Skunkworks, followed right after by The Chemical Wedding and I don’t believe I actually have a favourite song, since my preference changes quite often.
Well, I guess this is all. If you want to know more about me you can try my personal website.
Cheers!
